Majors: Biology (B.A.) & Biotechnology (B.S.)
Minors: Bioethics & Ethical Leadership
Accomplishments: I am an honors student and a two-time recipient of the Keating Schneider Experiential Learning Fund utilized for research I performed on tau isoforms and the COVID-19 mortality discrepancies existing among differing demographics. I am a member of Kappa Gamma Pi, an honor society striving for personal Christian excellence, service, and scholarship. I received the Monsignor Fagan Award for the highest academic achievement and the Mary E. Scanlon Prize for the highest academic achievement in science in my four years as an undergraduate. I am certified in COVID-19 contact tracing, cell culturing, and as a College Reading & Learning Association (CRLA) Level 1 tutor in the biological sciences. I am featured on the Elms College website and YouTube channel for the research I have completed. I am also the President of the Class of 2023 at Elms College.
Goals: I will graduate as a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) in 2027. As a medical student, I am interested in continuing research in gene ontology and proteomics. I look forward to returning to Western Massachusetts to pursue a career as a cardiologist, serving the community I was raised in.
Key skills: Due to the projects I have been involved in, mostly centered on proteomics and bioinformatics, I developed skills in functional proteomic profiling and gene ontology. Moreover, as an experienced teaching assistant, tutor, and researcher, I have cultivated interpersonal skills, such as group critical thinking, relationship building, and team leadership.
