Ruben Osuna Martin, known as “Herr Ruben,” joined Hainerberg Elementary School (now Wiesbaden Elementary School) in 2016 as a Host Nation teacher. He teaches students from Kindergarten through Fifth Grade about German culture, language, and everyday experiences in Germany.
Prior to joining WES, he worked at the Upper School of Frankfurt International School. In 2015, he obtained certification as an official Spanish examiner (levels A1–C2) from the Cervantes Institute. Previously, he spent two years teaching languages at Heidelberg Pädagogium in Heidelberg.
In 2014, he completed a Master’s degree in Sixth Form Education, Foreign Language Teaching, and Vocational Training at Valencian International University and obtained Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) from the United Kingdom Department of Education.
He graduated in 2012 from the University of Granada with a degree in English Linguistics and Literature, which also included the study of German, Italian, Chinese, and Spanish.
Ruben is the youngest member of a four-person military family and has a strong passion for languages. He is a collaborative team player whose hobbies include sports, animals, languages, and cooking.
