The Nokia Communicator 9000 was the first smartphone in history.
The 25th anniversary of the appearance of the "smartphone" is coming, therefore, the Museum of Communication in Frankfurt is looking for copies of old models for the exhibition.
On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the smartphone, which is celebrated this summer of 2021, the Museum of Communication (MFK) in Frankfurt is in search of smartphones, and also old cell phones. As part of the "Smartphone.25 - Tell me!" Project, MFK announced Tuesday that submitters will also have the opportunity to share their experiences with those models.
"Mobile phones are now an important part of our routine and have become our permanent companions," says the museum in a statement about the exhibition.
The MFK defines smartphones as "a mobile phone that has extensive computer functions, and that has a portable format, which fits in a trouser pocket."
