Creating Your Team
Before creating a team, it is best to consult with your administration & ET. Many schools will have one main 'school team' and use channels & private channels for topic-specific groups (e.g., grade levels, departments, committees, etc.).
When naming a team, it is best to include the area, district, or school descriptor before the name of the team (e.g.,'Europe East Educational Technologists'). Channel descriptions should communicate the target audience for the channel.
Creating A Channel
A helpful analogy for Teams and Channels is to think of a Shopping Mall. The team would be the Mall and the shops within the mall would be the channels. The shops are all part of the Mall and share some common information but each shop also has specific items (files & information) that are specific to the store. You have a large school TEAM that is composed of many channels (grade levels groups, departments, committees, etc,.).
