Recording
- Find suitable location with no wind, or other ambient sound. I have used conference rooms, unoccupied offices, quiet outdoor spaces, the base library, community center, etc. Get volunteers to help with this if your students are too far spread out to monitor. Wind protectors for the microphones are fundamental if you are recording outdoors.
- Use good quality recording equipment (Rodecaster, Zoom, Chromebooks)
- Use the 5-second rule to ease editing process
- Use good stereo headsets to check for quality sound after you finish your recording.

The 5-Second Rule
The 5-Second Rule
When recording mistakes will happen. When they do, do not stop the recording. Leave 5 seconds of silence and then continue as normal. Then in the editing process all you do is look for the flat lines representing silence. Your editing will be needed only there.
