Podcasting in the Classroom

Podcast:  Why Having Students Create Podcasts is Beneficial

Introduce Students to the Concept of Podcasts

• Example podcasts

Research and Write Script

• Script template

• Hand in on LMS (Classroom, Schoology, etc.)

Recording Audio

• Find suitable location

• Use good quality recording equipment (Rodecaster, Zoom, Chromebooks)

• Use the 5-second rule to ease editing process

Editing

• Upload audio file to Google Drive

• Choose editing program

  • 1. Audacity was the choice before 1:1

    2. We Video - online platform that links to Drive but we have limited licenses at the moment, but if demand increases that may change.

    3. Adobe Podcast - new platform in Beta version.  This may offer a new way forward. Take a look at the template of my project.  You can take a closer look at it, manipulate it, or create your own based on it.  It will not change my original project.
