1) Read the guidelines for service projects under the guidelines link.
2) Research and choose a potential service project. At the project ideas tab there are some project ideas or you may look at a PowerPoint shows from the past two years and may choose to continue a project of a member that is not continuing the project this year. You may also create an idea of your own.

3) Get Approval: Complete the Request for Approval Form and submit to Ms. Lake, Chapter Advisor by October 30, 2018 (Your project must be approved before completing any other forms)

4) Project Worksheet: Once your project(s) is approved, fill out the NHS/NJHS Project Guideline Worksheet and submit to Ms. Lake for final approval. Form is located under the forms and bylaws link.
5) Tracking: Participate in your service project and track it on the Hours and Tracking Form for Service. You are required to complete 30 (20 for NJHS) hours of community service as an individual, per year. Your individual service project hours will also be recorded on your service hour form and will count towards your overall service hours. A good solid individual service project will require about 50% of your total service hours.
6) Slideshow: You are required to take pictures and document your service and create 2 page PowerPoint of your activity. At the end of the year, you will present and talk about your project to the group and incoming NHS/NJHS members.
6) Ms. Lake is available during seminar and during lunch to talk with you about your project-please make an appointment by email in advanced. She is also available after school by appointment.
