The mathematics instructional progression is based on the DoDEA College and Career Ready Standards for Mathematics (CCRSM). Our program uses a backwards design model curriculum structured with inquiry: what is it that we want our students to know and to be able to do at each grade level?

DoDEA defines literacy as: reading, writing, listening and speaking; doing so by engaging students in technology supported instructional practices along with traditional print and media formats. Our standards-based curriculum allows students to research and explore literature and non-fiction through integrated reading and writing programs available throughout the K - 12 grade spans. The DoDEA College and Career Ready Standards for Literacy are a spiral design to develop student skills in all four domains, each instructional year, becoming more complex as students advance through the grades. Through our diverse course offerings, including Honors level and Advanced Placement, DoDEA is committed to advancing the literacy skills of all military-connected children to participate fully in our global community.

DoDEA will instruct students in Kindergarten - grade 5 using the DoDEA College and Career Ready Standards for Science (CCRSS) beginning in the 2017-2018 school years. The K-grade 5 science education experiences form the foundation for continuing to learn about science and help students to advance their understanding of the world. This scientific understanding is created using a three dimensional learning approach based on: Disciplinary Core Ideas, Science and Engineering Practices, and Crosscutting Concepts. Learning experiences are designed to engage students using investigating phenomena and by solving real world problems through the use of the engineering design process.
