EduTyping is DoDEA's procured resource for helping students in grades K-5 with their typing skills. This resource will ensure that students become comfortable with computers, type with all ten fingers, type without looking at the keyboard and, eventually, type at the speed of thought. EduTyping uses age-appropriate lessons, engaging content, and games to help students learn the fundamentals of typing while providing teachers instant feedback and tracking of speed and accuracy.
While there are no established typing standards for elementary students, we are tasked through College and Career Ready and English Language Arts Standards to begin introducing digital tools to students starting in kindergarten and increasing expectations to all 5th grade students producing and publishing a writing piece that includes typing two pages in a single setting.
Check out the document below for further information how students and teachers can login and on proposed targets that have be set for each grade level.
