School-Wide Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports

Welcome

Albritton Middle School has implemented School Wide Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (SW-PBIS or PBIS) as of SY18-19. PBIS is a systems change process for the entire school. The underlying theme is teaching behavioral expectations in the same manner as any core academic area. As a school, we have determined 3 Core Values that guide our behavioral expectations in all locations: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Safe, referred to as the 3 Bs. The expectations are stated positively and are easy to remember. The behavior matrix details behavioral expectations in all locations throughout the school. Rather than simply telling students what not to do, the school is focusing on the recognizing and reinforcing preferred behaviors.
