Information Literacy Targets -

all US History and American Studies classes will develop these skills in a Research Paper assignment

Use the Library’s US History Research Page for a set of resources that will help you conduct your research.

Standard One:

  • I develop a list of search terms.
  • I conduct basic and advanced searches using author, title, subject, keyword and full-text.
  • I search the library catalog to find books and can find them in libraries.
  • I find information in books using tables of contents, indices and other internal organizers.
  • I keep a record of research.

Standard Two: Students evaluate information critically and competently.

  • I examine and compare information from various sources including books, newspapers, magazines, etc.

Standard Three: Students use information accurately, creatively, and ethically.

  • I support my conclusions with evidence.
