WHAT IS AP CLASSROOM?
AP Classroom is a dedicated online platform designed to support teachers and students throughout their AP experience. The platform provides a variety of powerful resources and tools to provide yearlong support to teachers and enable students to receive meaningful feedback on their progress.
***Every AP student MUST join AP classroom for each of their AP classes at the beginning of the school year. This is a required step for each AP student because it allows the PHS testing coordinator to order each student an AP exam for their class.***
For those who are new AP students and have not previously created an AP classroom account, one of your teachers will walk you through the process.
PROGRESS CHECKS
AP Classroom provides Progress Checks for each unit of every AP class. It is highly recommended that students use these Progress Checks to assess where their current level of proficiency in the class is. AP teachers will often assign Progress Checks to students periodically in order to ensure students are studying properly for their exam.
AP SCORES & AWARDS
You can also use AP Classroom to view your AP scores in early July every year. Additionally, you can use AP Classroom to send your AP scores to any college you'd like. You can view your AP scores from previous years as well.
College Board also gives awards to students who complete a certain number of AP exams with a high average score. You can view these awards using AP Classroom as well.
AP Credit
Many students take AP classes in order to earn college credit in high school. However, whether or not you earn college credit for an AP class is different with each college. You can use AP Classroom to access a database that will tell you which colleges accept AP credit for your course and what score you need on your AP exam for it be accepted.
