Enrollment

Returning BASD Virtual Academy Students

1. Indicate continued enrollment during Course Selection (Secondary) or contact the Virtual Academy email (Elementary) at BASDVirtualAcademy@BoyertownASD.org. 

2. Building administration, counselors, and/or IEP teams will approve or deny continued enrollment in the BASD Virtual program based on previous success in the Virtual Academy. 

3. Provide the counselor with the name of the adult that will receive Observer access to the virtual student’s courses. Observer access allows parent/guardian to have access to work completion and grades. Grades will not be found in Infinite Campus until the course is completed in Accelerate. 

4. Move to Step 5 below.

New BASD Virtual Academy Students

1. Contact building level counselor to indicate new interest in the Virtual Academy

2. Parents/Students complete the Online Learner Readiness Rubric sent by the building counselor or principal.

3. Building administration, counselors, and/or IEP teams will approve or deny enrollment in the BASD Virtual program based on online learner readiness, past academic success, etc. Note that specific processes will be in place for IEP teams. 

4. Provide the counselor with the name of the adult that will receive Observer access to the virtual student’s courses. Observer access allows parent/guardian to have access to work completion and grades. Grades will not be found in Infinite Campus until the course is completed in Accelerate.
