Boyertown Middle School East Sharon L. Rossiter
Courtesy and respect for others must be shown at all times.
Bring binder, assignment book, and pens and sharpened pencils to class every day when face to face.
If you would like to discuss your grade or any other concern, please make an appointment or see me before homeroom in the morning. This allows us to talk privately without interruption. Too, this allows us more instructional time in class.
If your parents would like to talk to me for any reason, have them call the school and leave a voice message for me to return their call. Additionally, parents can always e-mail me at srossiter@boyertownasd.org.
Be on time for class. Any time you arrive in class more than three minutes after the last class, you are considered late. Please refer to the student handbook for more information.
Plagiarism (taking someone else’s ideas and presenting them as your own) will not be tolerated. Giving or receiving information on a test, or evidence of intent, will result in an automatic zero. Please refer to the handbook for the school’s policy regarding this.
Students will be given the corresponding number of days absent in which to make up work. However, if an assignment is announced in advance, it is due the day you return. Being absent the day before a test/quiz does not excuse you from taking the test. Of course, in case of severe illness or circumstances, special arrangements can be made with the teacher.
Homework will be accepted for full credit only if it is turned in when it is collected. THIS INCLUDES MAKING SURE VIRTUAL WORK IS SUMMITTED and MARKED AS DONE. Students are accountable for due dates; the assignment book helps with this a great deal.
When face to face, all homework may be completed in pencil, but formal writing assignments must be typed or written in blue or black ink. All assignments must be on standard-sized white paper, free of “fringes” and stray marks. A proper three-line heading is required on the top, right-hand corner. This consists of your full name, date, and class period.
If a student must miss English class for any reason (e.g., leaving for an appointment, early dismissal for sports, attendance for a musical lesson/rehearsal) it is his/her responsibility to contact the teacher PRIOR to the missed class. It is at that time that the student will turn in any materials due and gather any new work assigned. Due dates will remain the same.
PLEASE REFER TO YOU STUDENT HANDBOOK FOR OTHER POLICIES
