The SDC Policy Board is the governing body for the management of grant funds received through the NYS Teacher Center Grant. Participating members of the Policy Board present felt needs from their respective schools as representatives of their community of educators; vote on items proposed, such as courses, materials, expenses for travel, attendance at workshops for instructors, etc.
Attend a Policy Board meeting. Observe, ask questions and decide if regular participation as a teacher leader within our district is right for you! If so, join the Policy Board by voicing your intention to join and formally register through Frontline (formerly known as ¨My Learning Plan¨ or MLP).
Contact the Director at staffdevelopment@bcsdny.org or attend a meeting.
As a participating Policy Board member or member of our community of educators, you have a say in the way that SDC Grant funds are used throughout the grant year. Teachers are instrumental in making decisions to support their communities, and teachers, based on their individual and community needs. The SDC Policy Board develops the grant proposal each spring, and approves the proposed grant before it is submitted to NYSED for review.
