Action 1: Student Survey

A survey was conducted among our peers at Loara High School to gather insight on students awareness of mental health resources available on campus. The survey was used to get an understanding of what students opinions were on the resources given and how they believe they can be improved.

The screenshot on the left shows how the survey was sent to all students of all grade levels at Loara High School. We recieved help from our government teacher, Mr. Walker, in order for this survey to reach the entire student body and there was a total of 48 responses.

Takeaways from Survey:

After reviewing the students responses, we realize that they also agree on being taught more lessons on Teen Mental Health. So then we decided to interview our health teacher to see why many students are feeling uneasy about the health class. Our group began to debate whether the issue was the health curriculum ( as it leads teachers to teach a certain set of topics) or if it was simply due to students carelessness on the health class overall.
