The Spirit Staff

Sara Bone is a senior at Ste. Genevieve High School. She is involved in throwing for track and field and is a first-time member of The Spirit Staff. Bone is also a member of the yearbook staff this year. She was a part of the volleyball team in high school for two years her freshman and sophomore years. Bone has been a manager of the boys' basketball team for three years going on year four into her senior year. She has two dogs. Rocky is a Boxer Mix and Odie is a Pitbull Mix.

Senior Selene Raney has worked with the Spirit staff for a year. Raney likes socializing with her friends and family, but she especially cherishes time spent with her dog, Athena. Cooking, baking, playing too much Tik Tok, and early runs are some of Raney's pastimes. She also likes to study, create, perform, and instruct music. She has spent four years playing percussion in the marching band, and she has served as the section leader for one year. She hasn't decided what she wants to do professionally, but she does know that she wants a home with vaulted ceilings and a big living room and kitchen. She desires a cabin with an unfinished basement in the woods.

Hayden Ford, a soon-to-be graduate of the class of 2024, has been attending the Ste. Genevieve school district since his first day of kindergarten. It is his first year as a staff member of The Spirit. He was involved in football for the Ste. Genevieve High School team from freshman to junior year. Now, he goes to work after school rather than doing extracurricular activities. When he is not working or at school, he enjoys riding his four wheeler, hanging out with his boys, spending time outside, and going to the gym.

Ellie Lalumondiere is a Senior of Ste. Genevieve High school, was a Spirit member her sophomore year, and is now a Spirit member her senior year. Lalumondiere has been working at Anheuser Small Animal Clinic in Bloomsdale since the summer of 2023. Her dream career is to become a Veterinarian Technician and then advance to a more specific job. She can not live without animals, books, plants, and coffee. Some of Lalumondiere’s hobbies are painting, gardening, and making pottery. She also likes to listen to crime podcasts while she runs. Lalumondiere is not a people person, but she loves to hang out with her friends and some of her family.

Vinil Bhagha is a Senior at Ste Genevieve high school, This is his first year in Journalism to the Spirit staff. Bhagha also played football his sophomore year and was the basketball manager his freshman year. After school,  Bhagha enjoys his time with family and friends when he is not  working. Some hobbies Bhagha enjoys are playing video games and basketball with friends. Once Bhagha is finished with high school, he plans on attending a trade school in becoming a mechanic and electrician. 

Solange Roth is a senior foreign exchange student. It’s her first year in The Spirit staff. She comes from Grenoble, a French town of 160,000 inhabitants. She is the eldest of a sister and two brothers. Her favorite subjects are Geopolitics, English and Social Studies. She would like to be admitted to Science Po, a prestigious and selective French College, and work in the United Nations as a diplomat. She plays clarinet, dances and does theater. She’s also a scout, and enjoys reading, writing and listening to music when she has freetime.

Peyton McCrory, a senior at SGHS, is a first-year spirit staff member. She likes to watch Tik Toks on her phone when she’s bored or before bed. She also likes to just sit outside with her dog and enjoy the weather if it’s not too hot or cold. She loves cleaning and organizing things when something looks messy. She has a bulldog. She likes to watch football. Her future plans remain a mystery because she doesn't know what she wants to do yet after highschool. 

Kendra Vogt is a senior at Ste Genevieve High School. This is Kendra’s first year as a staff member of The Spirit. When Kendra is not in school, she loves to hang out with family, friends, and she enjoys Saturday night lights at the race track. Kendra’s favorite racing event is the Gateway Dirt Nationals in St Louis, Mo. In the future Kendra plans to travel the world and do something she loves. 

Kaelyn Boyer is currently a senior at SGHS and this is her first year as a member of The Spirit staff. After she graduates high school, she plans to attend Maryville University but she is still undecided on what she wants to do. When she is not working or at school, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, going shopping, and watching her favorite shows. 

 Paris Hoy is a soon to be 2024 SGHS graduate,and  this is her first year as a staff member of The Spirit. She is the SGHS Emeralds dance team captain and has been on the team for all her high school years. Paris plans to attend Chamberlin University of Nursing to achieve her BSN degree to either become an OBGYN or a CRNA. Currently, she is in the first step of her nursing career by attending the CNA program at Peryville Career Center. When not at school, dancing or working, Paris enjoys spending time with her eight month old daughter, watching her learn and explore the world. 

Makayla Bowen a, soon to be a 2024 SGHS Graduate,  has been inthe Ste. Gen. school distric since kindergarten. This is her first year as a journalist. She is currently working at Midstates Woods and Productions. She has worked at her job for almost two years making surveying stakes.  She plans to go straight into the workforce after she graduates and then eventually get into the union. In her free time she likes to spend time with her family and friends, ride side by sides, work on her truck, and cook. 

Lilyan Largent is a senior highschool student at SGHS, graduating in 2024. This is Largent’s first year in Spirit Staff.  She grew up with a few big families, moved around a lot, but officially settled down in Bloomsdale, Mo. She has been working at 55 South Pizza for over a year and a half, where she cooks and serves at the family owned business. She was accepted to attend East Central College in Union, Mo. She would like to earn an associates degree in culinary arts, and major in business.  

Sofia Cellitti, a senior at Ste. Genevieve High School, was part of the yearbook staff in her sophomore year and has now joined The Spirit Staff  to further advance her writing skills. With her hobbies and interests, she might be covered in clay when you meet her, as she is attempting to master the pottery wheel. She is also an SBE qualifier working with Lakenan Insurance. She isn't just working at Lakenan; Sofia has a second job at Great Clips. Sofia is still exploring what she could do in her career, so she is willing to explore multiple new hobbies and interests.

Mrs. Jessica Harlow, a 2007 SGHS graduate, has been teaching high school ELA classes for 11 years, and she is in her second year teaching Journalism to The Spirit staff. In addition, she currently teaches English III and Yearbook. Mrs. Harlow earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Southeast Missouri State University in 2012 and 2018. When she is not working, she enjoys running, reading, shopping, and watching true crime. She moved back to her hometown in 2014 and currently lives with her husband and two daughters, ages 1 and 5.
