I am honored and excited for the opportunity to serve as our Athletic Director. Spanish River has been a huge part of my life. My brother and I both graduated from River. I was lucky enough to be a student athlete here, come back to River as teacher and coach, and now I get to watch my own boys be Shark athletes. Because of these experiences, our school and athletic department mean so much to me.
I'm excited to continue to build on the strong athletic foundation that has already been established at River. We have so many talented athletes, dedicated coaches, and supportive families. One of my biggest goals is to bring our programs together so that we are not just individual teams but a shark family. I hope to build on our athletes supporting each other and celebrating each other's successes. I want our athletes to feel like they are part of something bigger than just their individual sport. We are all Sharks!
I also want to continue building on school spirit. We have an incredible student body, amazing athletes, and community support. I would love to see more students, teachers, and families filling the stands to help create an exciting and supportive atmosphere at games. Some of my favorite memories from high school were being at athletic events with my friends. High school goes by so fast. I want our athletic department to help create those same unforgettable memories for our students.
I have a lot of fun and exciting ideas in the works to bring energy and more engagement to our athletics events, recognize the accomplishments of all our sports and athletes, and hope to create experiences that students want to be part of. I'm looking forward to working with our coaches, athletes, students, faculty, and community to make this vision come true.
