Core Classes

In our first unit of science, we learned about cells, specifically animal and plant cells. In our newest unit (unit 2), we are learning about the body, and have learned about organ systems and what they include.

In math, we are learning about equations, specifically y-intercept, slope, linear functions, graphs, and rate of change. Later in the year, we have started to learn about the pythagorean theorem.

In English, we created a narrative essay, with the prompt around loss. I decided to write about my cat.  We have For one of our first reading books, we have read 'Down a Dark Hall'. Later in the year, we created a two part essay on an urban legend monster/creature of our choice, and I chose the Snallygaster.

In history, we are learning about texas history. However, since Texas used to be under control of spain, we are learning about the history of spain's reign over Texas. We have also started to learn about Mexico's independence from Spain. Later in the year, we are starting to get into how Texas gained its independence.
