This was the first 3D model I created on SketchUp. It is four cubes stacked on each other with someone standing on top of them. The cubes are order in biggest to smallest. All the cubes are evenly places in the center of each cube. In order to get them stacked on each other I used the move tool pick the cubes up and place them on top of each other. But I created the cubes by starting with the rectangle tool and made it to look like a square. Then I used the pull tool to make them 3D and stand up.
This is my house that I created from SketchUp. The house model on the right is the house in SketchUp and the house on top is the house in Blender. I also took close up pictures of the house to see how the details are different or similar in Sketchup compared to Blender. The house in the bottom is the house details in Blender and the house on the bottom left is the house details in Sketchup.
This is my house in SketchUp I created it by starting with two squares that are 2D, and used the pull tool to make them 3D. Then I group the two squares to made it to one, and put lines on the top and pulled the lines to make the roof. After that I made the windows and made them a component to I won't have to paint each window one by one. Also when I created the door I added a door nolb.
This is the Blender version of the close up picture of my house. As you can see the realistic wood is still very seeable. And you can see the door also is very realistic with the wood. I still think that the Sketchup model is and materials is better.
This is the close up picture I took in SketchUP. You can see how the wood on the door, wall, and window looks very realistic. I tried to make the whole house out of a realistic wood to make it look like it's a house you would find in the woods.
This is my sculpture that I made in SketchUp from the front view and on the bottom is the top view. I first started off by making a square. Then I made the square have 8 sides with makes it a octagon. After that I made it 2 meters big, and I pulled it up with the pull tool 3 inches. After that I used the line tool to made designs in the octagon. After that I used the pull tool to made the designs stand up like you see in the photo in the top. Then I used the paint to color it so it isn't all white I made the main colors green, red, blue, and yellow. And you can see the shapes I made in the designs from the top view on the bottom photo.
These are my 10 second house and sculpture that I made in Blender. In order to make the spinning video I did the same thing to both of them. I first started with the keyframes that start at zero and end at 90. To make the house and sculpture to make them do one full circle. Then I made the keyframes to go longer which was 300 to do a reverse circle while the camera is going up slowly to see all the details. And finally the camera is going to end looking down from the top to see all the details of the house and sculpture. I also rendered both the house and sculpture at 100% to make them look as good as possible, and not blurry.
