Before starting on a bigger project, we needed to practice using Adobe Illustrator.
This is what we first started doing in Adobe Illustrator. We copied and pasted the original circle and gave them different colors. Some were our own ideas and some were suggested by AI.
Then, we created a copy of the big circle and used it to make an emoji. It didn't have to be an emoji that we have on our devises. I decided to make a baby. I don't know how I came up with it but I was determined to make it.
Around the start of the year in our ELAR class, we had to create and draw our very own monster. This is the monster I came up with. I wanted mine to have pastel colors and for it to be aquatic. I first started on the tail and then the rest of the body.
We took our original drawing and put it in Adobe Ilustrator. We made the opacity really low so we could use it as a reference to draw our monster. The tool I used most was the curvature tool. Mr. Hicks taught us to use the drawing tool but once I tried it, it came out slopy and not good at all. So I changed to the curvature tool and making my monster became a whole lot easier. This was the final result.
I purposefully made it small because it's glitchy when it's big
The thing I hated most about this project was animating my monster. I had a lot of trouble trying to make this monster cooperate and I kept fixing it in Adobe Ilustrator. There were a lot of keyframes that I had to put to make the tail move but it was moving around a lot like it was dancing so I erased those keyframes and started all over again. Many crashouts later, I was able to animate my monster. I had originally wanted to animate the tail, head, and arm. But animating the tail took so long and I needed to catch up with the class so I ended animating just the tail.Â
