Mr.Hicks first introduced Sketchup to us. Sketchup is a 3D modeling software used for designing, and planning projects in architecture, construction, and landscaping. But like the Vector Arts, we had to practice using Sketchup.

Cube Practice...

To make the cubes, we used the rectangle tool to make a square that can also be used to make squares. It didn't magically make the cube, but instead did a 2D shape. Then we grabbed the push-pull tool to pull up the square to make it a 3D shape. After that, we made 3 more cubes but bigger. It could've stayed like that but we could also stack them up for fun. Since I had extra time, I decided to do it. We also had to draw our names at the bottom with the pencil tool.

After the Cube Practice, we started building our house by using a variety of tools like the push-pull, offset, rectangle, and offset tool.

Making the house was my favorite part and was super fun to make. I think the hardest part was making the windows, especially the circle one.

After fully making the house, we had to paint it to put the texture. We couldn't make different parts the same color or they'll have the same texture.

This is the finished house. I really liked how it turned out. I tried different patterns and textures until I got ones that looked good together.

Video Animation

This is the video of my house that I animated in Adobe After Effects. I had trouble getting the house in After Effects but with the help of my classmates and teacher, I was able to do it. Animating it was also hard for me but Mr. Hicks gives us videos on how to do specific assignments.

After animating our houses, the next thing we did was 3D models in Sketchup. If they were unique enough, they could get 3D printed.

I wanted to do something that is easy to print but still different from everyone elses. I thought that since a lot of people liked cheese, I would create one. I found out that a lot of people were also doing a cheese...But that's okkk!
