As we start using Sketchup we first started with making squares and then using the push pull (p) tool to make them into cubes.
For the base I made a rectangle that was 12',30' ( 12 feet by 30 feet). For the second rectangle I did it by 20',10' (20 feet by 10 feet). Using the push pull tool I pulled it up by 10' from the ground, and using the offset tool I did it 6" looking up at the bottom of the house.
This is the painted version of the simple house. We used the colors from the material panel. Since we put all the windows in components it was very easy to color them all at once instead of doing one by one.
Using the Shift-Paint modifier to change the colors to textures all at once.
