Our team visited the farm twice, one on November 2nd in 2025, and one on December 7th in 2025. As soon we met the owner of the farm, we learned about persimmons and WeiWeiJia. In addition, we interviewed the owner, knowing more about WeiWeiJia's current situation. To know more about persimmons, we made some dried persimmons by ourselves.
During our first visit, we met Mr. Lu, the current owner of the farm, he showed us the basic ways of how to make a dried persimmon: cleaning, removing the leaf parts of the persimmon, peeling its skin with a old machine, smoking the persimmons, drying them, and giving them a massage. After that, we experienced to do the steps on our own.
On December 7th, 2025, we visited the farm again and had the opportunity to interview the current owner of Weiweijia. We learned many things during this interview. The owner not only shared the history of the farm, but also it's future and what challeges they are facing right now.
