Your house must have
1. With the RECTANGLE tool, draw a 12'x30' rectangle.
2. Add 15'x10' (or 10'x15'; it's up to you)
3. Erase the separating edge with an ERASER tool
4. with the PUSH/PULL tool, pull it up 10'
5. Creating a 5' roof (Draw L shape line in the midpoint, then draw a connecting line: Click the select tool to hold one of L then shift the other line--Change to blue)
6. Creating a chimney
7. Creating a 6" roof overhang to use the OFFSET tool (Push up 9')
8. At least one door and three windows with frames
9. Select the FOLLOW ME tool and trim the bottom surface
10. Add more details like

Steps to Create a Keychain in SketchUp
1. Open SketchUp and delete Casey: Click on him, and if highlighted in a blue box, press Delete.
Select Device to Mouse from the bottom-left corner
2. Create a Rectangle:
Use the Rectangle tool to draw a rectangle measuring 2", 1" at the origin.
Zoom out to see the full shape.
3. Add Half Circles:
Add a half-circle tool with a radius of 1/2" to each side of the rectangle. Alternatively, create a full circle and erase the inner semi-circle.
4. Create a Base:
Use the Push/Pull tool to extrude the base to a height of 1/8". Repeat this for all three parts.
5. Measure and Mark
Utilize the Tape Measure tool to move 1/4" along the red axis from the outside edge and 1/2" along the green axis from the top/bottom edge
6. Draw a Circle:
Use the Circle tool to create a circle with a radius of 1/8".
7. Push/Pull the Circle:
Select the circle using the Select tool, then apply the Push/Pull tool to push it down to a height of 1/8" on the face.
8. Check the Bottom:
Use the Orbit tool to view the bottom of the model.
9. Connect the Edges:
Use the Pencil tool to draw a line connecting the "On" edge to the opposite "On" edge, ensuring that the bottom is fully connected.
10. Offset the Shape:
Use the Offset tool to move the shape inward by 1/16".
Create Trim:
Use the Push/Pull tool to extrude the trim to a height of 1/16".
Add 3D Text:
Click on the 3D Text tool and type the desired letter.
Set Text Dimensions:
Set Height to ¾” and Extrusion Depth to 1/16”.
Place the text on the keychain base using the Move Tool to position it properly.
Practice Adjusting 3D Text:
Practice adjusting the 3D text for improved appearance.
Save your design with your name and two colors (base color and letter color)

Step 1: Set Up Your Workspace
Open SketchUp for Schools in your web browser.
Choose a template. The "Simple Template - Meters" or "Simple Template - Inches" will work well for this.
Step 2: Draw Your Cookie Shape
Select the Rectangle Tool (or another shape tool like the Circle or Polygon tool) from the toolbar on the left.
Click on the origin (where the red, green, and blue axes meet) to start drawing your base shape.
Drag your mouse to create the desired size for your cookie. Click again to finish the shape.
If you want a more complex shape, you can use the Line Tool to draw individual lines and connect them, or combine basic shapes.
Step 3: Add Details and Refine Your Shape
Use the Eraser Tool to remove any unwanted lines or parts of your initial shape.
Employ the Arc Tool to create curves and rounded edges. Click to set the start point, the end point, and then drag to define the curve's bulge.
For more intricate details, you can use the Pencil Tool to draw freehand lines.
Remember that the inside of your drawn shape will be the cookie.
Step 4: Create the Cutter Edge
This is a crucial step. You need to create a raised edge that will actually cut the dough. Use the Offset Tool. It looks like two curved lines with an arrow.
Select the face of your 2D cookie shape.
Drag your mouse inwards to create an inner offset. A small distance is usually sufficient (e.g., 2-3 millimeters or 1/8 inch). Click to set the offset. This inner shape will define the cutting edge.
Step 5: Extrude the Cutter
Select the Push/Pull Tool. It looks like a rectangle with an arrow pointing upwards.
Click on the outer face of your cookie cutter shape (the area between the outer edge and the inner offset you just created).
Drag your mouse upwards to give the cutter some height. A height of around 10-15 millimeters (or 1/2 to 5/8 inch) is generally good. Click again to finish the extrusion.
Step 6: Add a Handle (Optional but Recommended)
Having a handle makes the cookie cutter easier to use. You can create a simple handle by drawing a shape (like a rectangle or a circle) on one side of the top face of your cutter.
Use the Push/Pull Tool to extrude this handle shape upwards to a comfortable height.
Step 7: Review and Refine
Use the Orbit Tool (the one that looks like two curved arrows forming a circle) to rotate your model and view it from all angles.
Check for any thin or fragile areas that might break during printing or use. You might want to thicken these areas.
Use the Zoom Tool and Pan Tool as needed to get a closer look at specific parts of your design.
Step 8: Export for 3D Printing
Once you are happy with your design, you need to export it in a format suitable for 3D printing. Go to the Menu (the three horizontal lines in the top left corner).
Select Download.
Choose STL File (.stl) as the export format. This is the standard format for 3D printing.
Click OK to download the file to your computer.

If you have your own 3D printer, use slicing software to prepare the file for your printer and then print it!
