What is an Emotional or Behavioral disorder?
The Division for Emotional Behavioral Health states that an Emotional or Behavioral Disorder is a condition where a student shows one or more of the following characteristics for a long period of time which affects the student's performance in the classroom. These characteristics include:
Trouble learning with no explained reasons such as intellectual, sensory, or health factors.
Trouble forming relationships with others.
Inappropriate emotions or behaviors in a normal environment.
A regular feeling of unhappiness or depression.

What are signs a child has an Emotional or Behavioral Disorder?
The Division for Emotional Behavioral Health says that behaviors exhibited by a child with an EBD include hyperactivity, aggression or self-harm, withdrawal, immaturity, and learning difficulties (Behavior disorders: Definitions, characteristics & related information).

What can cause Emotional or Behavioral Disorders?
According to The Division for Emotional Behavioral Health, there is no known cause for these disorders.
