On December 1st, 2022, Cooper FCCLA Members hosted a semi-formal event for the senior class to advocate for the Rae of Sunshine Foundation. Seniors who attended decorated the Christmas trees in our school cafeteria, with each club, organization, and sports team sending representatives to hang an ornament. Seniors enjoyed cookies, drinks, and a guest speaker from Grace Fellowship Church, Ryan Conlon, encouraged the students on the spirit of giving and kindness. Cooper FCCLA spoke on the Rae of Sunshine Foundation, their mission, and their story, and led students through navigating their website. Proceedings from the event went to the Rae of Sunshine Foundation. Cooper FCCLA donated $100 to their foundation and provided students with mental health awareness and resources!
Senior representatives had the opportunity to put ornaments on the trees to kick off the holiday season at Cooper High School! With many smiles and laughter about people trying to hang their ornaments at the top (and reminiscing on past seniors who participated and dropped theirs from the top), everyone had a wonderful time stepping away from the hustle and bustle of high school life and enjoyed meaningful time with friends!
Cooper FCCLA always looks forward to putting on Hanging of the Green. The setup might be stressful, but it's worth seeing our senior class enjoy time together in their last year of high school. Their laughter and smiles at this event are a joyful memory they can carry with them after graduation. We are honored to provide them with mental health resources as they embark on this final high school chapter and prepare for the next chapter of their lives.
