Term 4 Sports
For the first half of the term, the focus for Sports is training for our Athletics Day event which will be taking place in week 5.
For the second half of the term our Sports focuses are football, volleyball, touch rugby, and cricket. For these sessions students will move around in their home classes to different teachers who will be leading the different sports. The first half of the rotation is teaching skills. The second half of rotation is then a game using the skills that the students have learnt.
Sports Events:
4th November - Bay Suburbs Touch
5th November - Year 5 & 6 Athletics Day
18th November - Bay Suburbs Athletics
Athletics Day
This term students will be training for Athletics Day. Athletics Day consists of the following sports: discus, shotput, sprints/hurdles, high jump, relays, and long jump. From week 1 to week 5 students will be participating in athletics training from 1:45pm to 2:45pm on Mondays and Wednesdays (unless there is a clash e.g MOTAT trip). This will lead up to the Year 5 & 6 Athletics Day event on the 5th of November.
Please make sure your child wears sport shoes and has their sunhat with them.
Bike Track
Students are encouraged to bring their own bikes. However, bikes and scooters are available at school for students to use. All students MUST wear a helmet.
For weeks 1 to 5, students will be on the bike track as part of our athletics rotation.
From week 6 onward, bike track day is Wednesdays.
