During Term 3 we will be learning about our whenua and natural disasters.

We will be learning about:

• Different types of natural disasters (tsunamis, floods, earthquakes and volcanic eruptions).

• Previous natural disasters and their impact and formation of our whenua

• NZ histories/ Māori Pūrākau.

• Emergency procedures and equipment.

This term we will engage in a range of hands on activities to better understand the formation, impact and aftermath of natural disasters. Including designing and earthquake proof building and emergency kits.
