Year 7 Wātaka Term 4

Home Learning

Each week their will be a small home learning element that you will need to complete to continue with the tasks you are doing in class.

This will be on top of the 30 minutes of reading you will be doing each day and finishing any tasks that you have not completed in class.

Week 7 Home Learning

  • Kaitiaki Home Learning in Google Classroom

  • Learn your 10 spelling words for the week.


Previous tasks that should have been completed by now:

  • Home Learning:

    • Week 5-6 Complete your Home Eco Audit in Google Classroom.

    • Week 4 -In your Google Classroom task, write out the ingredients and instructions for your cookbook recipe. Check out the must haves in the Google Classroom task.

    • Week 3 -In your Google Classroom task, write your recipe blurb with support from whānau. Check out the must haves in the Google Classroom task.

    • Week 2 -Come up with one way to help reduce water use in your household and write a brief description. Take a photo of your water conservation technique. Add your description and photo to the Week 2 Home Learning task in Google Classroom.

Youthtown

Across the two days you will do four activities (two each day). The activities are Kayaking, Stand up paddle boarding, Sailing and Windsurfing.


The cost is $130 per student and full payment is required prior to the trip. If your whānau is struggling to pay the full amount then they need to contact the office to set up a payment arrangement.

9:20am Arrive at Orakei Basin, morning tea, briefing

2:40pm Arrive at St Thomas's School

What to bring

  • Closed footwear which can get wet (no jandals, sandals or crocs)

  • Wet suit (optional), Youthtown also provides wetsuits

  • Swimming togs and towel

  • Rain coat or jacket

  • Hat and sun screen

  • Warm clothing for after activities

  • A spare pair of shoes to wear home

  • Bag for wet clothes/togs

  • Packed lunch and water bottle
