This term we will be focusing on:
Week 1-5: Biographies: Linking with our research in Topic this term, we will be looking at particular Heros and explorers who have helped to protect and guard sealife. We will be learning to write biographies about these important people.
Week 6-8: Information writing: Students will be creating their own Google Site about a marine environmental issue of their choice.
Week 8-10: Plays: students will practice and present plays to the class.

All students will have a range of progressions based on their individual needs, which will include some of the following:
Y5 - Writing:
Use knowledge of spelling patterns, prefixes, suffixes and root words to spell unfamiliar words.
Write simple and compound sentences, using varied beginnings and lengths that are grammatically correct and complex sentences that are mostly correct.
Y6 - Writing
Spell all Essential Word Lists words correctly and make attempts at difficult words.
Show a good understanding of all basic spelling patterns and rules.
Write a variety of sentences showing some control over grammar.
