This term we will be focusing on:
Week 1 - 5: Biographies. Students will explore the biographies of people who have made an impact on the sea. We will also work on our research skills and be more precise when searching for information.
Week 6 - 8: Reading to gather and process informatio. Students will work on summarising information they read to be included on a Google Site they will create.
Week 6 - 8: Plays. Students will practice and present plays to their class.

All students will have a range of progressions based on their individual needs, which will include some of the following:
Y5 - Reading
Processes and Strategies -Select texts for enjoyment and read new genres.
Ideas - Give clear examples of details in a text that aid understanding of abstract ideas.
Y6 - Reading
Processes and Strategies - Read a text over many days and read multiple texts related to the same topic.
Ideas - Think critically about information in a text by making judgements and justifying personal opinion.
