Term 4 Reading Progressions:
Structure:
Identify effective words and techniques the author has used with intention across a range of different text types
Language Features:
Understand that some phrases have figurative and literal meanings.
Processes and Strategies:
Cross-check the meaning of new words using multiple parts of a text
Week 1-3: Students will focus on reading narrative texts. They will learn to identify the purpose and effects of figurative and literal language
Week 4-6: Students will read and find information to answer the questions they have formulated about our Enviro Science topic.
Week 7-9: Students will work on a variety of activities linked to our writing programme/revise any areas needed.
