Dear Second Grade Families,

Here is what is planned for the week.

Math- Chapter 2 is all about fluently adding and subtracting within 20.  Practice the basic math facts by using flash cards (can find them at almost every store or online), many different educational websites, or just writing basic facts on a piece of paper to have your kiddo complete.

Reading- The reading story is titled Baby Bears. They will need to be able to read and know the meaning of the following words for the test- adult, alive, covered, fur, giant, groom mammal, and offspring. The story test is Friday, October 16.

Spelling- This week’s spelling list focuses on syllables.  The test is scheduled for Tuesday, October 20.

Religion- We will begin Chapter 4, We Praise and Thank God.

Grammar- We will continue to learn about adverbs and introduce homographs.

Science (Taught by Ms. Trinity)- The second grade will be learning about absorption and texture of different types of matter.

Social Studies (Taught by Ms. Trinity)- They will finish wants and needs with a review foldable activity.
