Dear Second Grade Families,

We have had a great beginning of second grade.  The students have quickly learned how to fill our their homework planners and are getting to be better listeners every day.

Math- Our first unit will focus on place value.

Reading- The reading story is titled The Big Red Lollipop.  They will need to be able to read and know the meaning of the following words for the test that will be given in two weeks-   fair, scurries, plead, share, culture, language, invited, and aside.

Spelling- The spelling unit vowels and consonants patterns.  The test is scheduled for Friday, September 4.

Religion- Chapter one is titled, Our Church Welcomes Us.

Grammar- We will be reviewing nouns and writing complete sentences.
