Apple iPads
iPads are a familiar fixture in many households and classrooms, offering access to educational tools, entertainment, and the internet in one sleek package; however, with great versatility comes notable risk. From accidental spending and data privacy breaches to excessive screen time, there’s plenty for parents and educators to consider before handing over the device. While Apple offers built-in safeguards such as ‘Screen Time’ and ‘Family Sharing’, these features must be correctly set up and actively managed to be effective.
This guide walks you through these options and highlights some of the more surprising ways children can get around restrictions – including with Siri – while offering practical advice on how to help keep young users safe and healthy online

As we approach the end of the academic year, Year 7 students have shown remarkable growth and resilience in their transition to secondary school. They have adapted well to new routines, developed greater independence, and embraced the challenges of a more demanding curriculum. Across subjects, their enthusiasm for learning has been evident, and many have made significant academic progress. Beyond the classroom, Year 7 have contributed positively to school life through extracurricular activities and by building strong friendships. It’s been a pleasure to watch them mature and thrive, setting a solid foundation for the years ahead.
As the academic year draws to a close, Year 8 students have continued to build on the foundations laid last year, showing impressive development both academically and personally. They have grown in confidence, demonstrated increased responsibility, and begun to take more ownership of their learning. Many have shown real curiosity and creativity in their work, and their contributions to class discussions and group projects have been thoughtful and mature. Outside the classroom, Year 8 have been active participants in school life, from sports and clubs to leadership roles within their year group. Their progress this year is a strong indicator of their readiness to take on the challenges of Key Stage 4.
As we near the end of the academic year, Year 9 students have demonstrated impressive maturity and focus as they prepare to transition into Key Stage 4. This year has been a crucial time for them to explore their interests, make informed decisions about their GCSE options, and develop the skills needed for the next stage of their education. Academically, many have shown strong progress, increased independence, and a growing ability to think critically. Their contributions to school life—whether through leadership roles, extracurricular activities, or peer support—have been valuable and commendable. Year 9 should be proud of all they have achieved and excited for the opportunities that lie ahead.
As we approach the end of the academic year, Year 10 students have shown real determination and maturity as they embark on their GCSE journey. This year has marked an important step in their academic careers, and many have risen to the challenge with focus, resilience, and a strong work ethic. Their engagement in lessons, willingness to seek support, and growing independence have laid a solid foundation for success in Year 11. Beyond the classroom, Year 10 have made valuable contributions to the wider school community, demonstrating leadership, responsibility, and teamwork. They are well on their way to becoming confident and capable young adults, and we look forward to seeing them build on this strong momentum in their final year.
As we reach the end of a significant chapter for Year 11, we couldn’t be prouder of all they have achieved throughout their time at school. This year, they approached their exams with focus, determination, and maturity, and their hard work has been truly commendable. It was brilliant to celebrate with them at prom—a well-deserved evening of fun, laughter, and reflection on their journey so far. The sense of community, friendship, and pride on display was a perfect end to their school experience. Please see the letter attached regarding Results Day on Thursday 21st August.
As the academic year comes to a close, our Sixth Form students have continued to impress us with their commitment, ambition, and leadership within the school community. Year 12 have shown real maturity as they prepare for the challenges of their final year, setting high standards and making the most of the opportunities available to them. We also want to take a moment to recognise our Year 13 students, who completed their exams with dedication and determination. We hope they are now enjoying a well-earned and restful summer break, reflecting on all they have achieved and looking forward to the exciting paths ahead. We’re incredibly proud of all they’ve accomplished and look forward to celebrating with them on results day.
