Marvel Rivals is a highly popular multiplayer shooter that pits iconic superheroes against formidable villains. The game is free –to play on PC and current-generation consoles but does feature microtransactions that allow players to spend real money on cosmetic items for their characters.
While Marvel Rivals has been deemed suitable for children aged 12 and over, there are several risks associated with the title that parents and educators should be aware of. Year 7 have made an excellent start to this module, showing enthusiasm and curiosity in their learning. They are actively engaging with new concepts and skills, demonstrating great progress in both their understanding and application of key ideas. Their confidence is growing as they participate in class discussions and activities, and many are beginning to work more independently. It’s fantastic to see their willingness to take on challenges and support each other in their learning. With their positive attitude and continued effort, they are on track to achieve great results by the end of the module.
Year 8 have approached this module with enthusiasm and a growing sense of independence in their learning. They are building on their previous knowledge and applying it with greater confidence, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and creativity. Many students are actively engaging in discussions, sharing their ideas, and supporting their peers. Their ability to think critically and reflect on their work is improving, helping them to deepen their understanding. With their continued effort and focus, they are making great progress and are well on their way to achieving success in this module.
Year 9 have shown a mature and focused approach to this module, demonstrating increasing independence and confidence in their learning. They are building on their prior knowledge, tackling more complex ideas, and applying their skills with greater depth. Many students are actively engaging in discussions, offering thoughtful insights, and challenging themselves to think critically. Their ability to work collaboratively and support one another is also developing well. With their continued effort and enthusiasm, they are making strong progress and setting a solid foundation for future learning.
We encourage students to begin having conversations, both with teachers and parents and carers at home, regarding GCSE Option Choices and the route they would like to take, which best aligns with their future plans. We will soon be sharing more information regarding Year 9 Parents and Options Evening, where students are able to continue these conversations with their subject teachers.
Year 10 have made a strong start to this module, demonstrating a more mature and focused approach to their learning. They are developing their analytical and problem-solving skills, applying their knowledge with increasing confidence and depth. Many students are actively engaging in discussions, thinking critically about key concepts, and showing greater independence in their work. Their ability to manage their time and take responsibility for their learning is improving, preparing them well for future assessments. With their continued effort and commitment, they are making excellent progress and setting themselves up for success.
Year 11 have approached this module with dedication and resilience, demonstrating a strong commitment to their learning. Their recent mock exams were a great opportunity to showcase their progress, and many students performed exceptionally well, reflecting their hard work and preparation. They have been using feedback effectively to refine their skills and deepen their understanding, showing a proactive attitude toward improvement. In class, they are engaging in discussions with confidence, tackling challenging topics, and developing strong exam techniques. With their continued focus and determination, they are on track to achieve excellent results in their final assessments.
Sixth form students have shown a high level of dedication and independence in this module, demonstrating a mature and analytical approach to their studies. They are engaging deeply with complex ideas, developing their critical thinking skills, and applying their knowledge with confidence. Many are taking initiative in their learning, actively participating in discussions, and producing high-quality work. Their ability to manage their time effectively and respond to feedback is preparing them well for their final assessments and future aspirations. With their continued commitment and enthusiasm, they are making excellent progress and setting themselves up for success.
