PE Updates
We are delighted to share a round up of all of our successes!
Our super Year 7/8 Girls attended the LAT football tournament at Leigh Dartford on Monday, finishing a credible 7th place overall! Strood were unbeaten after their first three fixtures before a couple of narrow defeats, one of which a 2-1 scoreline against eventual winners Stationers! Congratulations to all who attended!
__________
Last Tuesday it was the turn of our Year 7/8 Boys team to take part in the LAT football tournament. The PE team selected mostly Year 7 students so we knew this was going to be a tough competition! The boys worked relentlessly for one another and were a credit to the school. A finish just outside the Top 10 was achieved, but plenty of fun was had!

Last Tuesday Evening the Year 7 Netballers played Maritime Academy and although well beaten this was a great learning curve for the girls as they continue to develop their netball skills! The girls worked tirelessly throughout and know that more wins are round the corner!
__________
Last Thursday, the KS3 Girls Football team travelled down the A2 for a local derby against Leigh Academy Rainham. The squad put on a very professional 4-2 performance. Goals coming from Phoebe, Esmae, and Bella! Ms Panayi's player of the match goes to Year 8 Haley. A solid display leading the backline!

This Monday the Year 9/10 LAT Football Tournament commenced at Leigh Dartford. With a squad of mainly Year 9 students and just one Year 10 the girls knew it was going to be tough morning! The girls held their own in all games and secured a range of victories, draws and very narrow defeats! The girls have been superb this year as they continue to develop their football skills. We finished just outside the Top 10 but look forward to putting our unbeaten run in 9-a-side games to the test on Monday against our friends at The Holmesdale School! Keep going girls! We are so proud of you all.

This Tuesday our Year 10 boys travelled to Leigh Dartford for their 5-a-side football tournament. Out of 15 schools the boys below finished a superb 5th place! It has been a pleasure taking these boys on fixtures this year. Unbeaten in 11-a-side fixtures, the boys played with confidence and great skill to finish in the Top 5! Well done boys!
Year 11 Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde Performance
On Friday students in year 11 had the amazing opportunity to attend a production of The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, performed by the visiting acting troupe “The Globe Players”. This dramatised version of the novella was entertaining and thought provoking. Students were given the opportunity to ask the actors questions after the performance and it was clear from the quality of the questions that students were thinking hard. Several eager volunteers bravely took up the chance to be part of the production- in one of the attached photos we have Mikas and Billy, playing the parts of the “News Boys”. Well done to everyone involved!
Year 9 Science
Last week, our Year 9 scientists got hands-on with experiments to test the effectiveness of two types of antacid tablets! 🧪💊

Visit from the Seoul Board of Education and Korean Teachers
We were delighted to welcome 26 visitors from the Seoul Board of Education and teachers from Korea to our school. The visit focused on how technology, including Chromebooks, is integrated into the classroom to enhance learning.
The visitors toured our school, observing lessons and speaking with pupils about their experiences. They were particularly impressed by the use of Chromebooks to support independent and collaborative learning, as well as the enthusiasm of both students and staff in using technology effectively.
The group thoroughly enjoyed their time with us and were happy with what they saw, praising the innovative approaches on display. We look forward to hosting more events like this in the future, fostering global collaboration and the exchange of ideas in education.
