We're thrilled to announce an increase in our Sixth Form capacity for September 2024! Don't worry if your child hasn't met with the team yet – a few appointments remain in the first week after Easter.
Maths Feast Champions: We're proud of our Year 10 pupils who recently participated in a Maths Feast, demonstrating exceptional skills and knowledge! Well done to all involved!
STEM Support and Drama Success: Last week, a special guest from the STEM Tutoring Foundation provided valuable support and intervention sessions for our students.
Year 11 Drama: Additionally, pupils recently completed their final Drama performances, receiving very positive feedback from the external moderator. Congratulations on a stellar showcase!
Valuing Your Voice: Thank you to those who attended our recent Parent Voice Forum. Your feedback is instrumental in driving continuous improvement within the academy. We appreciate your partnership.
Easter Break Support: During the break, we'll continue offering comprehensive intervention programs for Year 11 and Year 13 pupils. Please visit our website for details. Additionally, a wealth of online learning resources are available for further engagement.
As we return for Module 5, Year 11 and Year 13 students will embark on their examinations. Their dedication and tireless preparation will undoubtedly lead to successful outcomes.

On behalf of the entire Strood Academy team, thank you for your continued support. We wish you all a restful and enjoyable Easter break. We look forward to welcoming everyone back on Monday, April 15th, at 8:30 AM.

Since the new year, we have come together as a community to reflect on all we have achieved so far. This includes:
Introducing and embedding routines for students such as morning line ups, the assembly protocol and focusing on transitions around the academy building; encouraging students are moving between lessons with pace and purpose and ensuring all students feel safe when moving around the academy
Focusing on combating 'Culture Killers' such as poor uniform standards, litter around the academy, use of foul and inappropriate language and body language within lessons; ensuring all students are presenting as focused and ready to learn
Implementing a standardised homework policy across the academy, where students are aware of the expectations around homework as well as the importance of this
Promoting students' extra curricular interests and hobbies through a range of lunchtime and after school clubs and activities
Improving relations with parents, carers and the local community through information shared social media platforms and in Weekly Parent Bulletins
Further improving communication with parents and carers through events such as face-to-face Parents Evenings, Year 7 Meet the Form Tutor, Parent Voice Forums and Parental Drop-Ins as well as tools such as 'Request Call Back' button and college-specific email addresses
We are immensely proud of the progress we have made so far, and while acknowledging that we are still at the very beginning of our Vision 2028 journey, we are looking forward to the successes we will continue to achieve along the way.
