Dear Parents/Carers, 

The new term has started at quite some pace with our pupils embracing the routine of academy life. This week I’ve had the opportunity to deliver assemblies to all three colleges on the power of communication and leadership using Sarina Wiegman as an example. We even completed a practical demonstration with the staff on stage, which many of our pupils found particularly entertaining.

This week we’ve experienced much cooler temperatures, this has supported our pupils to remain focused throughout the day. We have communicated to our pupils in the morning line up that their blazers are now to be worn at all times. On arrival to lessons they can remove them. 

The Endeavour Centre at Strood Academy is very nearly finished, the scaffolding has been removed this week and the final internal works are now taking place. We hope to be in a position to move into our new Specialist Resource Provision within the next few weeks. I will of course provide further updates and information. A very exciting development of our pupils. 

Early finish on Thursday 21st September 2023.

Next Thursday is our Year 6 open evening, taking place on Thursday 21st September from 4pm - 7pm. We are very thankful that many of our pupils are supporting the evening to showcase excellence across the academy. To support our smooth running of the evening we will be finishing at 2:30pm on Thursday 21st September. Should your child need to remain at school until the usual finish time of 3:20pm please contact your child’s college team as soon as possible.

This week, I’ve had the opportunity to visit many lessons from across different curriculum areas and various year groups and the engagement of our pupils continues to be excellent. Teachers continue to challenge and push our pupils to achieve the very best and it’s been excellent to see our pupils embrace a strong and effective learning environment.
