There continues to be an increasing number of individuals riding e-scooters on the public highway, pavements and in public open spaces.
E-Scooters are classed as motor vehicles and are required to be taxed and insured. It is not possible to get insurance for privately owned e-scooters, which means it is illegal to use them on the road or in public spaces, such as pavements.
The police are obliged to take action against anyone who is caught repeatedly using an e-scooter. You risk a £300 fine, six penalty points endorsed on your driving licence and the E-Scooter being seized. If you do not currently hold a driving licence at the time of the offence, you may be prosecuted and may have to go to court, whereby the fine can increase and your ability to obtain a driving licence in the future may be affected.
For further detailed information regarding e-scooters please visit GOV.UK: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/powered-transporters/information-sheet-guidance-on-powered-transporter

Year 9 Chromebook Returns
A reminder that Year 9 Chromebooks are to be returned during the week beginning Monday, 8th July. Students will be instructed to leave their Chromebooks with their computing teacher at the end of their computing lesson during this week. We kindly request that you also return any chargers that you may have in your possession. This will greatly assist us in preparing for the Chromebook rollout next academic year.
Year 9 students will then be receiving new Chromebooks in September. More detailed information about the new devices will be provided in Module 6.
Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. Please see the letter attached here for further information - https://docs.google.com/document/d/14N7IPN1N8uhzNQJpwqCcZEQTqmAZclp5O1k2n50ZhcQ/edit?usp=sharing
The Year 10 mock exams are well underway and we are so proud of our Year 10s for the resilience and determination they have continued to show throughout the first week of these mock exams.
The timetable for these mock exams can be seen here:
To aid your child’s revision efforts, we recommend the “Ultimate Revision Guide”, a comprehensive tool designed to assist students in preparing for their upcoming mocks. This guide includes a full specification outline, useful links, and access to past papers, all of which are invaluable resources for effective revision.
This online resource has been curated to align closely with the topics covered in the examination syllabus, allowing students to focus their revision efforts efficiently. You can also use the Subject module review which can be found here: Year 10 subject review guide.
Encouraging your child to utilise these revision guides will not only help them consolidate their understanding of key concepts but also familiarise themselves with the examination format and question styles. Consistent and targeted revision using such resources can significantly enhance their performance in the upcoming mocks.
We kindly urge you to support your child in incorporating the Ultimate Revision Guide and Subject Overview into their revision routine. By dedicating time each day to study and practice using these materials, your child can boost their confidence and knowledge ahead of the mock examinations.

Years 12 and 13 have subject-specific study periods built into their timetables, roomed into the study area. This area is now being supervised as a quiet study area to enable students to continue with their set subject work. We hope students find this useful.
