Mr Jon Richardson - Principal
Dear Parents and Carers
I am pleased to update you on the recent events and achievements at Strood Academy.
I would like to extend my congratulations to all Year 10 and Year 12 pupils for their dedication and hard work during the mock examinations. Your support and encouragement are truly appreciated in guiding our students towards success.
I am delighted to share the outstanding performance of our Year 7 students at the recent Cricket Competition. It was a remarkable experience for many of them, and I am proud of their sportsmanship and tenacity throughout the day. Special mention goes to Toby and Zak for their exceptional contributions, along with all the boys and girls who represented the school admirably.
Furthermore, it was a pleasure to organise a visit to the Globe Theatre in London for our Year 9 pupils, providing them with a valuable cultural experience.
Our commitment to the local community was evident during the maths session attended by over 80 pupils from Year 4, Year 5, and Year 6. We look forward to hosting more sessions, including English next Wednesday between 4pm-5pm.
As we near the end of the academic year, our Year 13 students have nearly completed all of their examinations, and we wish them success in their future endeavours. To our Year 11 pupils, your hard work and dedication has been commendable, and we eagerly anticipate celebrating your achievements at the upcoming prom and on results day in August.
I would also like to inform you that pupil reports for Year 7, Year 8, and Year 9 will soon be shared. We trust that this information will provide valuable insights into your child's progress. A video guide will be available to support you in interpreting the reports, and please do not hesitate to reach out to the academy with any queries.
Finally, I commend all our pupils for their ongoing commitment to learning and personal development. Your continuous efforts are truly commendable and deserving of recognition.
Thank you for your continued support in nurturing a positive learning environment at Strood Academy. Should you have any concerns or require further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Warm regards,
Mr Jon Richardson

Since the new year, we have come together as a community to reflect on all we have achieved so far. This includes:
Introducing and embedding routines for students such as morning line ups and the assembly protocol
Focusing on combating 'Culture Killers' such as poor uniform standards and use of foul and inappropriate language
Implementing a standardised homework policy across the academy
Promoting students' extra curricular interests and hobbies through a range of lunchtime and after school clubs and activities
Further improving communication with parents and carers through events such as face-to-face Parents Evenings and Parent Voice Forums
We are immensely proud of the progress we have made so far, and while acknowledging that we are still at the very beginning of our Vision 2028 journey, we are looking forward to the successes we will continue to achieve along the way.
As part of our Vision 2028 Engagement Curriculum, we are working to gather regular feedback from all members of the Strood Academy community, through events such as the Parent Voice Forum and feedback surveys. From the feedback gathered earlier on this academic year, we implemented a route of transition around the academy to ensure a smooth and safe journey throughout the academy for all students and staff.
This has been extremely successful so far with students moving through the academy calmly and safely, allowing students to travel to lessons with pace and purpose. We are so grateful for your support with this Engagement Curriculum and hope you will agree that these routines have had a positive impact within our academy.
