Extra curricular clubs on offer

We have a wide range of extracurricular activities run by the PE department here at Strood Academy both during lunchtime and after school. We would highly encourage all students to attend these clubs to further develop their skills and indulge in activities they enjoy. We look forward to seeing many of you there.

Year Group Updates

Year 7

Another successful week as Year 7 students continue to embrace the academy culture with ease.
A reminder that all students in the academy had their school photos taken this week. They will have returned home with a slip which contains a QR code. This QR code will take you directly to the Kittle website where you will be able to purchase copies of your child's school photo.

Year 7 will be completing their Reading Age tests within the first module of this academic year. Please see the letter attached for further information.
On Thursday 19th September, we will be welcoming parents and carers for our Year 7 'Meet the Tutor' event. Please see the letter attached for further information. We look forward to seeing many of you there.

Year 8

Our Year 8 students continue to progress through the first module of this academic year exceeding our high expectations. We are so proud.

Year 9

This year, our Year 9 students will be making their GCSE Option Choices. This is a highly important year for these students, and we are impressed with how well these students have returned after the summer holidays, allowing an ideal learning environment, where students are able to reap every possible benefit from their lessons.
We encourage students to begin having conversations, both with teachers and parents and carers at home, regarding GCSE Option Choices and the route they would like to take, which best aligns with their future plans. We will soon be sharing more information regarding Year 9 Parents and Options Evening, where students are able to continue these conversations with their subject teachers.

Year 1o

As Year 10 students enter the first year of their GCSE courses, we are incredibly proud of their levels of engagement within lessons as well as their positive behaviour around the academy. This allows an optimal learning environment, where students can take full advantage of their learning. We look forward to all these students will achieve throughout the course of their GCSEs.

Year 11

Our Year 11 students have continued to display a thirst for learning, ready to tackle their GCSE courses. We are amazed with our Year 11s for their maturity and dedication, having become the ideal role models for the younger year groups.
Year 11 intervention sessions began this week and we have been pleased with the attendance so far. These sessions are designed to provide targeted support to students in key subject areas. This is a valuable opportunity for your child's academic growth and will help them achieve their full potential in their upcoming GCSE exams. Please see the letter attached for further information.
We will soon be sharing information regarding Year 11 Parents Evening which will take place later on this module.

Sixth form

We thank all Sixth Form students for rejoining the academy displaying a high level of engagement in their lessons. Our Sixth Formers have continue to progress through this module exceeding our high standards and we could not be prouder.
