Funding for NPQs targets those teachers and leaders who work in the most challenging schools or educational settings, serving more disadvantaged communities.
Scholarship funding to cover the full cost of any NPQ course is available to teachers and leaders from:
the 50% of schools with the highest proportion of students who attract pupil premium funding.
16 to 19 educational settings identified as having high disadvantage.
In addition, teachers and leaders in schools on the RISE targeted intervention list are eligible for a fully funded place on any NPQ.
Scholarships are available to ALL teachers and leaders from publicly funded schools and 16 to 19 educational organisations for the following NPQs:
SENCO
Headship
Senior Leadership
Access to funding remains conditional on successful validation of participants’ registration information against Teaching Regulation Agency records, so you must ensure that the information supplied to your NPQ provider matches your teacher record.
If you are not eligible for scholarship funding, you can still undertake an NPQ but either you or your school will need to pay for it.
