This year in Science we will be experiencing the Nature of Science and becoming real scientists! When entering my classroom, you are no longer 5th grade students, but scientists! You will be expected to behave accordingly and show respect for everyone and everything we work with.

You will be receiving a safety contract for science. We will go over it in class, and your parents will need to sign the contract before we begin any super science activities.

5th grade science will be so much fun! This is my second year teaching 5th grade science, and we will explore and learn together! We will be using interactive science notebooks and will dive into the solar system, Eco- systems, food chain and webs, and light and sound.

We will be using google classroom and I will be leaving classroom updates and pictures on this science page for you and your parents to see what is happening in science this year.

It’s an exciting year, and I look forward to guiding your learning and being a partner in your science education!

The first few weeks of school have gone well! We've gotten used to our new schedule, moving from the 5th grade hallway to the Junior High and back as well as learned all our teachers names and classroom rules. In science, we have gotten to know each other, practiced some Nature of Science, made Bioglyphs and learned how to be safe in lab!

I am looking forward to a fun year of learning together!
