Each quarter, students are to read at least one 5+ points fiction book and one 1+ points nonfiction book. Students have also been provided with bookmark book reports to help guide them in their reading. Those are collected at the end of the quarter. Dates for the school year have been given to the students and glued in their planners with Ms. Berg. Happy reading!

Scholastic Books Club

Follow the link above to order books through the Scholastic Book Club. Students will be informed when orders need to be placed by as needed.

Orders are due by the 15th of each month. At that time I will place our class order and distribute books out to the students upon arrival.

NoRedInk is an online resource that we use on a weekly basis. This interactive tool helps guide students through the process of learning language skills and rules through practice lessons. This tool also adjusts to each students needs in order to give them the right amount of practice and support needed.

Storyworks

Throughout the school year, we will be reading many articles from our magazine subscription, Storyworks. Including fiction and nonfiction, students will have a chance to engage in texts both in their magazines as well as online with the different videos and audio read-along versions of texts.

Typing Club

On Typing Club, students will learn the basics of typing through interactive game like lessons. This website, will monitor how much time students place into their typing practice as well as accuracy. Students will be working on typing throughout the year and will have featured practice time in class on what we will call "Typing Tuesday". This will be a time where students will have practice typing assignments along with some mini challenges periodically.
