About 4th Grade
Units of Inquiry: As an International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (PYP) school, we will be digging into six transdisciplinary themes. During these units of inquiry, we will be learning about the content of the unit as well as asking questions and doing research to extend our learning. Social studies and science are integrated throughout the units.

Literacy: Students will have whole group instruction as well as daily differentiated lessons to work on reading comprehension, accuracy, fluency, and expanding vocabulary. Students will have plenty of time to read-to-self, read-to-others in small groups, listen to reading, and practice writing or word work.
Math: Students will have access to Houghton Mifflin Harcourt curriculum, online resources, and math manipulatives to help them master 4th grade MN math standards. The areas of focus in 4th grade math are multi-digit multiplication, division, fractions, and problem-solving strategies.
About me
If this letter was not long enough…a little about me. I come from a large family (6 other siblings, 12 nephews and nieces, and one great niece) from the western suburbs and spend my time with them, when I am not volunteering at church. I live in California in the summer, spend time in Arizona and love to travel anywhere internationally or domestic! I have been a great Auntie, to little Mia Keiko for the last 15 months and I am completely in love with her This summer, I took 2 nephews and 1 niece to Greece to celebrate their graduation from high school, participated in the Japanese Obon Festival in California with my sister and her family, went to my soon to be nieces wedding shower in Arizona and walked thousands of steps on my Pikmin Bloom app. I have been at Highland Park Elementary for 28 Years and have taught 1st, 4th, and 5th Grades.
