There are three ways to incorporate research into your writing:
quoting -- word-for-word match to what was written or said in the original source. Quotes use quotation marks and must give credit to the author.
paraphrasing -- putting an idea from your research into your own words. Paraphrases must give credit to the author.
summarizing -- "putting the main idea(s) into your own words, including only the main point(s)" (Purdue OWL).
You must give credit for ideas, quotes, and examples you use as evidence and content in your project.
Use the AICE method to integrate your research into your writing
