We will be completing reading tasks together as a class this week. All texts have an underlying theme and we will be comparing these texts and their 'messages'. This reading will also include our shared novel at Read and Feed time, with discussion questions and tasks to complete.

We are learning to:

• increasingly control a repertoire of comprehension strategies that they can use flexibly and draw on when we are not comprehending fully

• make links across texts by recognising themes and author messages

• interpret metaphor, analogy and connotative language.

• Determine the meaning of new vocabulary as used in the texts we read.
