Teaches and promotes student data and privacy through his or her instruction and role as an educational leader.
LMS provide Digital Citizenship lessons at all levels, stressing the importance of a strong password and keeping personal information private
Students enter ID number into Destiny through keypad so they do not have to verbalize number at checkout
Follow federal privacy laws to keep checkouts confidential if students are 16 and over
LMC Educational Assistants are trained in privacy laws
Policies in place regarding how student names can be posted online and in printed publicity
Parents can opt out of having student information posted
Utilize PaperCut so sensitive materials are not printed and left sitting out
SHS has Securly Classroom on the Chromebooks so teachers can monitor what students are doing on their Chromebooks if they choose. Only works in face-to-face instruction.
Implement process of having students change their passwords regularly. They cannot currently do so on their Chromebooks.
Provide more teacher training on digital citizenship so they can model it for their students.
