2. Strategic Questioning Activity (50 min total)
Strategic Questioning Overview (5 min)
Distribute handouts and review key concepts:
“Strategic questioning involves describing an issue and then digging deeper to explore change. This process impacts both the questioner and the responder, requiring genuine curiosity and empathy.”
Small Group Practice (35 min)
Journal Prompt (3 min): "Think of a recent challenging conversation. Write down what was said and your initial reaction."
Practice Rounds (30 min):
Triads: One person shares their challenge (2 min), others ask first-level questions (4 min), then second-level questions (4 min).
Rotate roles and repeat for each participant.
Debrief Discussion (15 min):
How did it feel to be the questioner? The responder?
What did you learn about your own thought process?
How can strategic questioning support community dialogue?
3. Closing & Evaluation (5 min)
